How to drop and share a waypoint.

Mark the truck, camp or water, share it with your group, and let an arrow point you back to it.Example screens from a demo group in Yosemite Valley. The orange ring shows what to tap. Tap a screen to see it larger.

Drop a waypoint

    Open the map tools

    On the map, move it so the spot is in the middle, tap the tools button, then Waypoint here.

    Name it and save

    Give it a name and pick an icon: Truck, Trailer, Camp, Water, Danger or Pin. Tap the check to save it for the group, or the share button to also post it in the chat.

Get back to it

    Tap Go to

    Tap the waypoint on the map, then the green Go to arrow. You can do the same with a person in your group.

    Follow the arrow

    A banner at the top shows an arrow pointing the way and how far it is. It uses the phone's compass, so hold the phone flat. Tap the X to stop.

Good to know

  • Group waypoints reach everyone in the group over the radio, so they show on every phone's map.
  • Just for you? Switch the map to your personal map (the button at the top right) and waypoints you add there stay on your phone.
