How to update your radio's software.
Most radios sold online come with other software, and need a quick, free update before Signum can talk to them. You do it once, from a computer, in about five minutes. The update tool is a free web page made by the MeshCore project, the open radio software Signum uses. The orange ring shows what to click.
What you need
- A computer with Chrome or Edge. The update runs in the browser. Safari and Firefox can't do it, and a phone can't either.
- A USB cable that carries data. Some cables only charge. If the computer doesn't see the radio, try another cable.
- Your radio's model name. It's on the box or the listing, like "Heltec V3" or "RAK WisMesh".

Open the tool and pick your radio
Plug the radio into the computer. Open flasher.meshcore.io and click your radio's model in the list. There's a search box at the top.

Choose Companion Bluetooth
This is the version that talks to a phone. Don't pick Repeater or Room Server for the radio you carry: those can't pair with Signum.

Click Flash!
Keep the newest version. Tick Erase device the first time, when the radio still has its old software (it clears its settings). Click Flash!, choose the radio's USB port when the browser asks, and wait until it says it's done. If the page asks you to press a button on the radio first, do that.

Connect it in Signum
Unplug the radio, turn it on, and connect it in Signum. If Android asks for a pairing code, it's usually 123456, or the code on the radio's screen.
Good to know
- The computer doesn't see the radio? Try another USB cable or port, and make sure no other program is using the radio.
- Updating later? Use the same steps with Erase device unticked to keep the radio's settings.
- Don't want to do this? The Signum Puck comes ready to use.
- Stuck? Tell us your radio's model and what the page shows.
